After six-ish years in public relations writing copy for pitches, press releases and PR mailer collateral cards, I’m ready to switch teams. And like any washed up athlete, I still speak in sports, so here’s what my draft player profile would say:

As a copywriter, Carmen wants to bring her unique perspective and the life experiences of those around her to produce authentic, compelling work that makes you feel something — whether it’s comfort, humor, nostalgia or hope. She has a slick way with words and wants to work with a team from whom she can learn to be even slicker. They say championships are won in practice, and she’s ready to do the work to win.
